For some reason, my gateway netbook won't do a system restore.?

i have system restore checkpoints made manually becuz the system checkpoints my netbook made don't work at all! no matter what i do, it keeps telling me that "restoration incomplete". Can someone help me just wipe my netbook clean without download or CD?! ITS REALLY KILLING ME!!!
