Is there a way to save my game in Alice: Madness Returns, other than auto-save?

I understand that there are checkpoints in which the game will auto-save, however, I am wondering if there are any cheat codes to make saving possible in other places? I am stuck on one spot where I need to kill a bunch of bad guys, and I understand that it will take me awhile to beat them, however, every time I die, I have to play the same 2 minutes of gaming in order to get to the spot I am about to die at. I would really like to be able to die, and then start at the boss stage area again. :(
