You could use sims and then open up a sims voice audition on youtube (I'd gladly enter too or you can do subtitles) so from reading that, the rest of this is going to be sims related, but first: You can start off doing sims or practicing manga and writing (a writer myself <3) and post them online. Now: you can go to modthesims2.com (also has sims 3 content, not sure about sims 1) and download different outfits and hair and eyes and things like that, even pose packs and hacks that will make your sims do different things. If you need help with costumes and set, try developing your character enough that you can get into their mind and understand their thoughts, and from there you can fit them with their clothing style, whether it's stereotypical [sad person: dark clothes] or completely shocking [sad person: bright *** clothes]. You can also do the same with set, but try to get into their parents minds instead (exception: their bedroom).
